Stan Cohen
Stan Cohen is a British sociologist known for his work on the social and cultural construction of deviance, as well as on the governance of crime and the media's role in shaping public perceptions of crime and deviance.
Cohen's most famous work is his 1972 book "Folk Devils and Moral Panics," in which he explored the concept of moral panics and how they are created and sustained. In this book, Cohen examined the media's role in amplifying and exaggerating the perceived threat posed by certain groups or individuals, resulting in a disproportionate response from society.
