Life expectancy refers to the age to which men and women are expected to live. In the United Kingdom the average life expectancy in 2013-15 was 79.2 years old. Gender differences in life expectancy can be seen with men expected to live until 78.5 years old compared to women who are expected to life until 82.9 years old. In conclusion the overall life expectancy for both genders has steadily increased since 2009-2011.
