Ideology (Education)

Outside sociology, ideology means a broadly coherent set of ideas and ideals about the world, but we use the Marxist meaning of the word: a set of ideas that seeks to disguise or justify the real nature of society. So for Marxists many ideas that are considered common sense or universal are actually just bourgeois ideology, which helps maintain their position as the ruling class. Education is one example of ideological state apparatus used to disseminate ideology and create false class consciousness.
