Fertility rate
The fertility rate is the average number of live births a woman has during her lifetime. In 2015 the fertility rate for women under 25 decreased but for women 30 and over there was an increase in the fertility rate. This could account for women deciding to have children later in life which can account for why women ages 40 and over’s fertility rate has surpassed women aged 20 and under. This can be seen with the average age of a mother is now 30.3 years old in 2015.
