A children’s home is a state-run institution that looks after children who have been removed from their family household. This institution will ensure young people are looked after and all basic needs are met. Children homes have decreased with one third of local authorities not running any children homes in their local area in 2016. Therefore, meaning there has been an increase in fostering children in homes with foster carers who act as guardians for the child whilst in the care of the LA.
