Breadwinner
The breadwinner of the family is the person who provides the economic support to the family. This role is traditionally done by the male of the family. With a growing movement for economic independence in women this has seen an interesting trend of female breadwinners. It is thought that in 2015 one third of Britain’s working mothers are the main breadwinners in their house. This further supports Feminist ideology as women are now entering into meaningful work which surpasses their husband’s wages making them economically dependent on their wives.
