The ageing population is a concern for many religions as this can put a life expectancy individual churches due to an increased older follower base. For example; from the 2011 census it was found that 1 in every 5 Christians were over the age of 65. As a result, the church will find it difficult to recruit new members due to a traditional ideology being presented which does not deal with the existential questions they debate.
