Admission Policies

Admission policies govern which pupils can attend a particular school. In a minority of UK secondary schools admission is through academic selection (for example, the 11+). Local authority schools also have overt admission policies based on where pupils live (the school's "catchment area") along with other criteria. Faith schools would include religious practice alongside the usual criteria. Some schools outside local authority control might have covert admission policies operated through interviews.
