Festive Sociology Activity - Don't Repeat Santa!
- Level:
- A-Level
Last updated 17 May 2021
Here's a ready-to-use festive activity to use with your A-Level Sociology students at the end of a long, gruelling term!
Don't Repeat Santa! is a really simple, but effective activity.
Split your students into teams (up to 6) The object of the game is for each team to get as many points as possible. To do this a team must describe each of the words presented on the screen. But, whatever they do, they must not repeat any of the words on the screen.
One or two members of each team must sit with their backs to the projector screen or whiteboard – they are the ‘guessers’. The rest of the team can see the screen. The words or phrases appear one at a time on the screen and the guessers must work out what word/phrase is on the screen based upon what their team-mates tell them. They have 60 seconds to get as many correct as possible.
This A-Level Sociology edition of Don't Repeat Santa has three versions of the game.
- 100 festive terms
- 100 key terms drawn from Year 1 topics in AQA A-Level Sociology
- 100 key terms drawn from Year 2 topics in AQA A-Level Sociology
Don't worry if you'd like to change the terms used. As with all tutor2u PowerPoint games like this, you can easily edit the terms provided. Full instructions are on each PowerPoint.
