Universal Credit: Plea not to axe £20 a week ‘lifeline’

The Joseph Rowntree Foundation (JRF) has urged the UK government to provide a temporary rise in Universal Credit and to make some other benefits permanent.
Many households could see their income cut by £20 a week from next April. JRF have suggested that around "16 million people will be in households facing an overnight income loss equivalent to £1,040 a year, with those on the lowest incomes and families with children being hardest hit."
