The Future of Welfare
2nd November 2020
This podcast from BBC Analysis discusses the state of the welfare systems in the UK and Germany.
In Germany, people who are made unemployed are eligible to receive an income that is linked to their previous paid job and are offered training to support future employment prospects. In the UK, benefits are largely allocated through a means-tested system.
The podcast could be used for the Work, Poverty and Welfare unit (responses and solutions to poverty by the state and by private, voluntary and informal welfare providers in contemporary society)
