22nd August 2017
A hit tip to Katie Bee over on the AQA A Level Sociology Facebook Group for spotting this topical example of gender inequality.
The article on the BBC Entertainment & Arts channel reports on data just published by Forbes Magazine on film actor pay.
According to Forbes, the world's 10 best-paid male actors earned a total of $488.5m in the past year.
That's almost three times more the 10 best-paid actresses female who took home $172.5m between them.
Emma Stone ($26m), Jennifer Aniston ($25.5m), Jennifer Lawrence ($24m) were the highest paid women listed, all of whom earned significantly less than the 10th-placed actor - Akshay Kumar ($35.5m).
