No Country for Old Men

OK, so I’m two years behind but for me, that’s not bad at all. I’d heard good things about this film and I wasn’t disappointed. There’s a lot of violence and you could just watch it as a thriller. But if you do that you’re missing a lot. Consider it a meditation on crime, violence and modernity; a subtly woven morality tale. Many people don’t like the ending, but there’s a point to it.

And of course, this should be something which allows you - or forces you - to reflect on the sociological approaches to crime. What is it that modern society does which leads to such horrific ends?
