Living in a Cult

For those teachers delivering the Beliefs in Society unit at A2 Sociology, a short documentary may be useful to help students understand more about why people join cults.

Here is a useful video from The Atlantic, available on YouTube about the group 'EnlightenNext', an organisation that focused on spiritual awakening.

Within the Explained series on Netflix, there is also an episode on cults and why people join using various examples, including a brief overview of the Moonies.
