Could better support for students at risk of exclusion in schools reduce knife crime?
A report published by the government entitled 'Back to school? Breaking the Link between School Exclusions and Knife Crime has outlined how councils should ensure all excluded pupils should have full-time, high quality education.
In some cases, excluded pupils only receive a few hours of teaching each day and this, it is argued, could lead some students being drawn into knife crime.
This article could be used for the Crime and Deviance unit, as well as Education.
