Gun Violence in the USA

After a recent school shooting in Texas students have developed a new hashtag to provide an opportunity for them to be preemptively heard if they become a casualty themselves.

A grim article that explores the fear that many students experience as they attend school. And perhaps a wake-up call to parents and (maybe) politicians about the need to do more to protect students and staff working in schools. 

This could be used as an extension task within the Education unit or form part of an introduction to sociology.
