Facebook Dating
8th November 2019
Facebook announced earlier this year that it was making a move into the dating market.
The dating function is already available in the US, but it will be introduced to the UK next year.
Facebook believe that with all of the data that they already possess, it would help build the 'perfect profile' for those seeking romance. Questions have been raised about the sheer amount of data that networks such as Facebook already have on users, could this additional element of information be a strength or a weakness for Facebook's consumers (i.e., surveillance)?
This article and podcast could be used for the Media unit (social networks).
