Examining Duty

I’m back on examining duty from this week, but will continue to post as best I can. As we’re now in the exam season students may find it interesting to check out this site and see how their exam scripts are marked. Online marking makes it even more important that you answer the question set and follow all the instructions carefully. My first impressions from this round of marking are that students do need to get to grips with subject content - in simple terms - you do have to know something, preferably quite a lot, about your subject. Don’t think you can manage with generalities. The easiest scripts to mark are the best - packed with relevant detail the marker can just keep ticking as point follows point. Obviously, when scripts are like this, the mark awarded will be very high.
