DNA Database

Jim Riley

25th November 2009

A rather brief offering today - as I explained yesterday - but I think its a good link and may provide some food for thought.

Try this link to BBC News Newsnight did have an item on this - yesterday I think - but you’ll have to watch the whole episode as they don’t seem to have provided a brief clip.

It may be obvious to many teachers, but it seems to me that the debates about the DNA database and the police’s use of DNA, is a great way to start work on official statistics and crime, and/or crime and labelling theory. There are some interesting statistics on the link and some useful further links.
