Covid: English secondary summer schools part of catch-up plan

Additional funding is due to be provided to secondary schools in England to help children with their 'lost learning' as a result of the pandemic and school closures.
The government has said that summer schools will be offered to make up for the loss of face-to-face lessons, with those who need it the most being given priority. The decision faces some criticisms from teaching unions related to the funding itself and teacher (and student) burnout.
