With the recent announcement that Bill and Melinda Gates are divorcing, this article highlights the growth of the 'silver-splitters, couples who divorce after the age of 60.

The article examines some of the reasons why there has been an increase in divorces in this age group and it could be used for the Families and Households unit (divorce).
