Andy Murray - is he Scottish, English, or just British? Nationalism and national identity doesn’t get that much consideration at AS/A level, but it’s no less important for that. Sociologists are interested in social identity, and nationalism and national identity is part of that, so it’s right that we should think about it. Kirsty Wark’s Newsnight package poses some interesting questions about British national identity and how it is changing.
