No, this is not a belated April Fool’s article… but, with a recent historic meeting between the leaders of South and North Korea, some social commentators (including the president of South Korea, Moon Jai-in) have suggested just that.
Journalists quickly rejected the idea on a recent Q&A session on ABC, but it does highlight the impact of globalisation on the politics of different countries as well as the power of the media.
This could be a useful article for the Global Development and Media units.
