Serotonin
Serotonin is a neurotransmitter that exerts a calming effect on the brain, inhibiting neurons from firing. Lower levels of serotonin are associated with less control in relation to aggressive responses. This has led to the claim that low levels of serotonin are linked to impulsivity and explosive acts of violence.
