The implications of psychological research for the economy are concerned with how the knowledge and understanding gained from psychological research (theories and studies) may contribute towards our economic prosperity. For example, if more effective treatments can be developed for psychological health problems then this means that people will be able to return to work and this reduces the burden on the employers, NHS and taxpayer.
