Official Statistics
Official statistics on crime are collected by the government annually and have been produced by the Home Office (in England and Wales) since 1805. They are now published by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) and hold information on crime surveys carried out on victims, as well as those recorded by the police. Some of the areas of crime covered include criminal damage, property crime, drug crime and physical and sexual crime.
