Bottom-Up Approach

The bottom-up approach to offender profiling is sometimes known as the British approach, and is a data-driven approach that makes use of statistical data on similar crimes that have been committed, in order to make predictions about the characteristics of an offender. One example of the bottom-up approach is investigative psychology, which was developed by David Canter.
