If you would like to download a simple worksheet to accompany the video activities, you can download it here. Alternatively, just use a piece of paper.
VIDEO ACTIVITY 1
In this video activity, you will revisit each definition of abnormality through different tasks that will help you to strengthen and practice your AO1 skills.
VIDEO ACTIVITY 2
In this video and activity, you will explore a range of application opportunities and practice selecting what parts of your knowledge are applicable to hypothetical scenarios.
VIDEO ACTIVITY 3
In this video you will revisit AO3 skills including strengths and limitations of the definitions of abnormality, and look at some exam style evaluation questions.
Before you finish, try this last activity. You will be given the first part of a question and must eliminate any 'impossible answers'. When the full question is revealed choose the correct answer to score points.
Additional task
For an additional exercise to develop your extended essay writing, answer the following question.
‘Outline and evaluate the ‘failure to function adequately’ and ‘deviation from ideal mental health’ definitions of abnormality (16)
Use the double whopper burger template to structure all of your evaluation points, and when you are done, click on this link to take a look at a model answer. Compare yours to the model and make a note of any similarities, differences, or things you could improve on if you were to repeat the question.
