tutor2u Psychology CPD Event at Harris Academy Crystal Palace
6th February 2017
On Wednesday 1st March, Joseph Sparks will present two sessions from the ‘Success in AQA A-Level Psychology’ CPD event at Harris City Academy, Crystal Palace. You don’t need to be a teacher at Harris to attend and full details can be found below.
This afternoon event (2pm till 6pm) will cover the following areas:
Session 1 (2.00pm-3.45pm)
Marking Matters
There is a lot of uncertainty about holistic marking and this session will provide you with techniques to mark holistically, mark accurately and most of all manage your marking workload. Techniques that shift the focus of marking onto students, who can become masters of peer-assessment, will also be shared.
Session 2: (4.10pm-6.00pm)
The Challenge of Linear
This session will set the scene including the key lessons to be learned from last year’s AQA AS Psychology examinations. The focus on the session will be on effective planning and preparation for the first year of linear A-Levels, by concentrating on examiner’s report, mark schemes and SAMs. Practical exam technique and activities will be demonstrated to overcome the common pitfalls in all areas of AQA A Level Psychology.
