Tribute: Stuart Cipinko
14th February 2017
On Thursday 1st December, Stuart Cipinko, a hardworking and dedicated tutor2u contributor, brilliant psychologist and passionate educator, sadly passed away.
I started working with Stuart in June 2016, when I began teaching IB Psychology online, with Pamoja Education. Stuart and I shared a learning space, where we often delivered live lessons (webinars) together. It was a great pleasure planning and delivering live lessons with Stuart, and not only were our sessions some of the best (I know he would agree), but our regular Skype calls led to a close online friendship. I came to admire Stuart, as he was a first-class educator, and when I started working for tutor2u, I knew that I wanted Stuart to be part of our team.
One of Stuart’s many talents was his beautiful writing. Stuart authored three sets of essays for tutor2u, including some of our most popular resources. In addition, Stuart proofread and edited every single psychology resource created last year and his attention to detail and critical eye made sure that our resources were all first-class.
Many teachers will never encounter the huge team of people who work behind the scenes at tutor2u, helping to create and deliver high-quality teaching and learning resources. Stuart was a key member of the Psychology Team, and I am delighted that his beautiful writing will reach thousands of A-Level Psychology teachers and students across the country for many years.
Stuart’s wife, Anne Reeves, has published a collection of Stuart’s writings entitled ‘On Education & Other Writings’ which is available on Amazon, and I look forward to reading more about the life of this wonderful man.
I would like to thank Stuart for being a dedicated colleague and close friend, who will continue to make an impact on the lives of thousands of teachers and students.
