Psychology on the box…Week beginning 29th November
28th November 2014
It's all getting a bit Christmassy now, and as a consequence the TV programming is more fairies and tinsel than Psychology. However there is some interesting viewing in the week ahead, which, although not specification focussed, is interesting.
On Thursday at 7.30 pm on ITV there is a documentary called ' Teenagers lives online- What Parents Need To Know: Tonight'. At first glance this appeared to be a cyber safety film, but it actually focuses on the health aspect of internet use of young adults. Extensive use of the internet appears to be lowering self esteem and increasing addictive behaviours. The implications for mental health are discussed in detail and for this reason it could act as an age appropriate stimulus in class if covering depression or addiction.
If you spot any other programmes in amongst the tinsel and santas tweet us. We will retweet and make sure people know!
