Psychology on the box…Week beginning 22nd November
21st November 2014
It's all about addiction and attachments this week on the TV...
On Tuesday ( BBC3, 9pm) there is a programme called 'Cocaine Capital of the World:Stacey Dooley investigates'. If you teach addictive behaviour at all this programme may be of use. It focusses on the city of Lima and its role as the main producer of cocaine. It's unlikely to produce lots of footage but you may find some clips that could be used for teaching the topic.
On Thursday ( BBC1 9pm) the documentary 'Life story' examines parenthood in the animal kingdom. Although the focus of the attachment topic is human attachment, the ethological work of Lorenz and imprinting means that reference to the animal kingdom is important and necessary. This programme may provide some useful clips of attachment in animals...which will provide variation from the usual geese clips!
As always, if you spot any any up and coming relevant programmes let us know, we will spread the word!
