Psychology on the box…Week beginning 15th November

We have had a look through the schedules this upcoming week and picked out two programmes you might want to watch / listen to or record.

On Tuesday ( Radio 4, 9 pm) All in the mind has an excellent programme on treatment for gambling addicts. This would make a good piece of homework as it is available ( once broadcast) on iplayer. This could work as an introduction to treatment or as a plenary once you have covered the treatments for addiction. It will give an up to date perspective on what is actually used in this country.

On Thursday ( BBC1 9pm) the fifth programme of the Life Story series focuses on the theme of courtship. Although this programme clearly covers animal behaviour, there will be examples of evolutionary adaptations to attracting mates which you could use to highlight the role of adaptive behaviours to improve chances of reproduction. This has clear relevance to the Relationships topic at A2.
