Here's a 'pick of the best' Psychology related programmes scheduled for this week....might help you resource the new specification? There's a sprinkling of forensic ( it's on the new spec for AQA), obedience and gender.
Psychology on the Box
Psychology on the Box: Week beginning Saturday 5th July 2014 Sunday 6th | ‘Common’ BBC1 9pm | A drama about a young man convicted for murder. Did he do it? Is he guilty by association? This is a perfect stimulus for defining crime in the forensic psychology topic in AQA B…or the new AQA specification | | Monday 7th | ‘Guilt by Association’ BBC1 10.35pm | This is a documentary examining the law of guilt by association. Again, useful for definition of crime. | | Tuesday 8th | ‘My Murder’ BBC3 9pm | This would provide a thought provoking stimulus about how to best explain behaviour. Why did it happen? Which approach explains the murder most plausibly? Can your students evaluate what plays the biggest part in causing the behaviour? There are no right answers. | | Tuesday 8th | ‘A Few Good Men’ Crime/Thriller 9pm | The classic film about obeying orders without question. | | Thursday 10th | ‘She’s the Man’ Film 4 6.55pm | A film about a girl who has to pretend to be her twin brother so she can play football… useful for clips if you’re covering gender as a topic | | And on the radio…… | | Monday 7th | The Infinite Monkey cage Radio 4 4.30pm | The return of the comedy series which looks at science in a humorous way. It may not relate directly to psychology A level, but if the last series is anything to go by…it provides snapshots of useful material, and some humour. Worth a listen! | |
