So onto Unit 4! This blog applies to the psychopathology section…whether you are doing schizophrenia, depression, phobias or OCD…. and it is about using what you know.

You will have to learn about the psychological and biological treatments for the disorder as they might be asked about in an essay. Don’t forget, however, they are also immensely useful for evaluating the explanations too. If they work, then it’s possible that the theory they are based on might have some validity. You have to know how effective they are…so use that knowledge!

A note of caution though, if the essay is about an explanation always make sure you keep your answer focused on the explanation, so if you talk about the treatments…always relate back to the explanation.
