I’ve been researching women in politics for a forthcoming First past the Post article and came across an excellent free resource for Politics classroom walls

The Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU) offers a huge colour poster illustrating the level of female participation in the politics of countries across the globe and can be ordered for free here

This comes in handy when covering topics like the representativeness of the Westminster Parliament, as well as comparisons with the new devolved assemblies. It has also been a handy aide-memoire when looking at comparisons between the US Congress and the UK Parliament.

It also illustrates a host of other fascinating facts like:

Women in highest positions of state. For instance, which of the following countries have either female (elected) heads of government or state?

Ukraine
India
Finland
Canada
Mozambique
