UK Politics text books

30th June 2010

If you are on the look out for resources, here is a list of British politics text books I found useful in teaching.

The students are assigned with a copy of McNaughton since we follow the edexcel spec and I find that the Unit 2 papers can be tackled successfully with his AS book.

I have put them in some sort of order of how much I have plundered them.

Garnett and Lynch: Exploring British Politics (Pearson)
Jones et al: UK Politics (Michael Moran)
Coxall and Robins: Contemporary British Politics (Palgrave)
Budge et al: The New British Politics (Pearson)
Dunleavy et al: Developments in British Politics series (Palgrave)
Various authors: Politics Study Guides (EUP), e.g. The Changing Constitution; The Judiciary, Civil Liberties and Human Rights; The Prime Minister and Cabinet; Devolution in the United Kingdom
Kavanagh et al: British Politics (OUP)
Holmes: Introducing Politics for AS level (Polity)
Heywood: Essentials of UK Politics (Palgrave)
