SNP poll ratings: boost for Labour

Good news for Keir Starmer as a new poll puts them ahead of the SNP
It appears that the impact of the instability within the SNP is filtering through, after earlier polls showed that the investigation into the affairs of the ruling party in Scotland was having little impact on their electoral support north of the border.
See this story and video below featuring the renowned psephologist, John Curtice.
But the latest polling puts Labour ahead of the SNP at the next election.
"Labour is on course to defeat the SNP in Scotland at the next general election for the first time since 2010, according to a new poll.
The research for the Sunday Times projects that Scottish Labour would win 26 seats at Westminster, up from one currently.
This would put the party ahead of the SNP, which is predicted to take 21, down from 45 currently.
The Conservatives are projected to take seven and the Liberal Democrats five, adding one extra seat each.
The Panelbase poll has been carried out since the arrest last Sunday of Scotland’s former first minister, Nicola Sturgeon, who was released without charge pending further investigation."
The scandal affecting the SNP is a good example of the short term factors that can be decisive in changing the mods of voters during electoral cycles.
