Scottish Referendum - Lessons to be Learned

The Scottish referendum of 2014 was one of only a few that have been held in the UK. There have only been two national referendums. One in 1975 over continued membership of the EEC and in 2011 over the use of the Alternative Vote. Their infrequent use would suggest that there are problems with referendums.
