Oldham by-election - will Labour win?
30th November 2015
The by-election in Oldham takes place this week (December 3rd) following the death of the long-standing Labour MP for the constituency, Michael Meacher (see here for an excellent obituary that also chart the changes in the Labour party during his 4 decades in Parliament). Meacher was very much a left-wing old Labour politician, and so it might therefore seem inevitable that Labour will hold the seat, now that the left-wing Jeremy Corbyn is leader. However, media coverage suggests that it might not be quite that straightforward.
