Obama To Get The Royal Treatment

Obama is to be given the honour of addressing both Houses of Parliament during his state visit in May. This is a privilege usually reserved for British monarchs, is this a reminder that during these turbulent times on the global political stage the ‘special’ relationship really is special? Speculation will be rife as to the focus of his speech up until the visit, but I think it is a safe bet that he will be able to actually deliver his speech, unlike Bush, who in 2003 was forced to cancel due to anti-war protests.
