Hillary’s Alamo

3rd March 2008

Hillary and Obama face a showdown in Texas. I can’t remember the last time I was this excited about an election campaign. For the very latest, and best in-depth coverage visit the Washington Post website.

As they put it:

“Sens. Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama are battling for votes before the March 4, Texas and Ohio, primaries. In Ohio, a declining economy and significant job losses are the central issues. In southern Texas, the candidates have targeted Hispanic voters. washingtonpost.com journalists have created a special multimedia presentation highlighting likely voters in both states. “

“True” is a follow up to the “3 a.m. phone call/Children” ad released Friday, which campaign aides say has helped give Clinton renewed momentum.

“[The ad] set up a national debate that has raised over the past few days, which I think has raised I think very significant questions both about Senator Obama and also I think put before the voters one of the most central questions that will typically be before the voters in a presidential race,” Clinton strategist Mark Penn said in a conference call with reporters Monday. “I think we’ve seen a tipping point and change in momentum in the past week. I think that momentum is tipping to Senator Clinton,” Penn added.
