Global Issues: Environment - Climate Change [The Economist]
25th March 2010
This week’s Economist features the debate over ‘Climate Change’. The lead article on “Spin, science and climate change” argues: “Action on climate is justified, not because the science is certain, but precisely because it is not.”
This is backed up by an article on the science of climate change: The clouds of unknowing . This is a useful overview (including graphs and diagrams) which highlights the lack of scientific and political concensus on the issue and also give passing mention to episodes such as ‘Climategate’ and ‘Glaciergate’. It asserts: “There are lots of uncertainties in climate science. But that does not mean it is fundamentally wrong.”
