A heads up that there is a raft of excellent, free, stuff from UK Parliament Education. Teaching about the legislature in the past could be somewhat dry and a little arcane, but the staff at UK Parliament Education have gone long way to make this key topic area more accessible.
As well as making it a lot easier to facilitate educational visits to the mother of all parliaments, there are invaluable CPD opportunities for those involved in teaching Citizenship and/or Politics throughout the school age-range. Likewise, there are lots of easy to understand explainers and guides to the workings of both chambers of Parliament, and opportunities for students to participate in activities that model the workings of our national legislature.
The main website is here and it is well worth signing up for the monthly newsletter, to help ensure yo don't miss out the latest news about events and activities on offer. Sign up here.
