Barack Obama announces himself as a rising star

Jim Riley

19th February 2008

Many a candidate has been hyped up by the media during the primaries season only to fall by the wayside. This time all the fuss about Obama could result in tangible success.

YouTube offers coverage of the speech in 2004 where he gained national recognition.

Barack Obama is one of the few primaries candidates who has lived up to the hype. Cast our minds back to the media frenzy over the supposed insurgencies of John McCain and Bill Bradley, and remember how they were both steamrollered by the institutional power of their respective party machines.

Many feel that this time it could be different.

Obama gained national recognition in 2004 with an inspirational speech at the 2004 National Party Convention.

Thanks to YouTube….
