According to the BBC: “Commons Speaker Michael Martin is leading a review into the MPs expenses system. Here is a look at the pay and expenses and allowances MPs can claim - which amounted to an average of £135,600 per MP last year.”

There has been a great deal of coverage in the media recently about MPs being less than above board about their financial arrangements. But what exactly are MPs entitled to?
