A very interesting article by Martin Kettle on the outcome of last week's elections
Most of the press coverage of the recent elections focused on what a disaster it was for Labour, and often some speculation about the future of the party leader, Keir Starmer. But a recent article in the Guardian presents a quite different thesis. The piece can be found here:

Here are some questions to consider when reading it.
- What evidence was there of an incumbency effect?
- How do the local election results nationally compare to those held in 2017?
- Did Brexit's absence at the 2021 poll have any significance?
- What are the implications of the results for the Conservatives under Boris Johnson?
And, overall, a more general question: do you agree with the writer's assessment of the election?
