Court of Appeal rules on “social cleansing”

This is a good example for students of the role of the Supreme Court in deciding points of law of general public importance, as well as illustrating how the civil appeals system works. A single mother facing her family being moved 50 miles due to her rent no longer being covered as a result of the benefits cap had her appeal turned down in the Court of Appeal (Civil Division) this week. Do your students think she should be given permission to appeal?
