Radnor House Sevenoaks aims to create a collaborative whole-school community of life-long learners, always motivated to achieve the highest standards of teaching and learning through self-reflection, objective evaluation, and research-based practice. We are seeking a Head of Economics to join the team.
Following an expansion of its A Level provision, Radnor House Sevenoaks is seeking a talented and ambitious Head of Economics to lead a newly formed department. The successful candidate will have opportunity to set the strategic direction of the department, designing and implementing a new curriculum in line with their chosen exam board syllabus. They will also enjoy considerable support from the school's leadership team and the well-established Business department.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the Economics Department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning that result in excellent student outcomes.
- Implement and develop a comprehensive and engaging Economics curriculum.
- Teach Economics to A-Level.
- Foster a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages student engagement and achievement.
- Monitor and assess student progress, providing constructive feedback and support.
- Organise and participate in extracurricular activities, such as economics clubs, competitions, and trips.
- Stay updated with the latest developments in economics education and integrate them into the curriculum.
- Contribute to the school’s strategic planning and development as an academic leader.
- Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues to support student success.
Further Responsibilities:
- To act as a form tutor.
- To contribute to the co-curricular life of the school.
- To undertake such other duties as the Head may reasonably request.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Relevant degree required
- QTS highly desired
