Foetal Alcohol Syndrome is the result of alcohol in the mother's blood which is passed to the foetus, via the placenta. It can affect a child’s development if their mother drinks alcohol in pregnancy.
Symptoms of Foetal Alcohol Syndrome
- Head and facial features that are smaller in size
- Behavioural issues
Effects of Foetal Alcohol Syndrome
- Delayed cognitive development
- Heart problems
- Kidney problems
- Problems with sight
- Hearing defects
- Poor balance and coordination
